Third postponement of verdict in Peter Anthony’s forgery appeal
KOTA KINABALU: The Court of Appeal has delayed its decision on former Sabah minister Peter Anthony’s forgery appeal for the third time.
Initially set for November 27, 2024, the verdict was first postponed to January 9, 2025, and then to February 6, 2025.
Peter Anthony, leader of Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), is contesting his conviction and three-year prison sentence for forging a letter related to a system maintenance contract in 2014.
The Federal Court chief registrar’s office confirmed the latest delay but did not provide a reason.
Lion dancers fell into sinkhole in Tamparuli

KOTA KINABALU: A lion dance performance in Tamparuli town took an unexpected turn when three performers fell into a sinkhole that suddenly appeared beneath them.
The mishap occurred around 11am on Jalan Bunga, where the concrete pavement collapsed about a metre deep, shocking onlookers.
Their teammates acted fast, pulling them out unharmed.
Tuaran MP service centre officer Rayner Ebi, 45, said the incident highlights the need for better infrastructure upkeep, noting that concerns over the unstable pavement had been raised with the Tuaran District Council before.
