Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says the ‘Kasi Bagus Sabah’ (Make Sabah Great) slogan reflects a growing political awareness and desire for change among Sabahans, particularly the youth, as they seek solutions to long-standing issues in the state.
He noted that the slogan, proposed by Sabah’s young people, resonates beyond generational boundaries and symbolizes aspirations for progress and development.
“This slogan was suggested by the young people who proposed it as a name for the people’s tour, and from our observations, ‘Kasi Bagus Sabah’ is not just spoken by Sabahans.
“Even I, coming from Peninsular Malaysia, feel that this slogan holds significance not only for the present but also for the future,” Hamzah said during the PN Jelajah Sabah Zon 5 program at Dewan Sri Gum-Gum, Batu 16, Sandakan, on Friday.
Hamzah said the slogan is particularly relevant given Sabah’s persistent challenges, including infrastructure issues, water supply disruptions, and road conditions.
He stressed that PN’s agenda extends beyond campaign rhetoric, focusing on raising public issues to ensure justice and fairness for the people.
“We are not the government but a group that wants to raise public issues. We are doing this because we want the government to provide justice to the people,” Hamzah said.
Meanwhile, Sabah Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee countered the narrative that Sabahans reject national-based parties, emphasizing that Sabahans are discerning voters capable of distinguishing between political narratives and practical solutions.
During the event, Hamzah welcomed over 300 new members from Kinabatangan into PN, showcasing the party’s growing grassroots support as it prepares for the 17th Sabah State Election. – February 22, 2025
