Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) wants its coalition, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), to win the upcoming state election so much that its leader, Tan Sri Anifah Aman, is willing to forgo contesting any seats.
The PCS president said his party had not set its sights on specific constituencies and was prepared to sacrifice its electoral ambitions to ensure GRS remains in power.
“I believe there is no point in contesting five, six, or even ten seats if victory is uncertain,” Anifah said.
“An election is not just about participation but about securing a win.”
He added that while some PCS members had expressed interest in contesting, their priority should be supporting GRS.
Anifah, who also chairs Invest Sabah, stressed that the coalition must continue governing to fulfil the people’s mandate, warning against being swayed by political rhetoric.
His remarks were made during an Invest Sabah breaking of fast event, which was also attended by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
PCS is still in discussions with its members about their role in the upcoming election. – March 16, 2025
