Pitas rep promises 10-year progress

First signs of change within two years, says Ruddy Awah

Pitas assemblyman Ruddy Awah vowed that transformative development will uplift his constituency over the next decade, with tangible progress expected within two years.

Unveiling his 10-year development blueprint, Ruddy pledged to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, emphasizing that the people of Pitas would soon experience a positive impact.

“The changes we are bringing to Pitas are not just promises; they are plans backed by a clear timeline and strategic implementation. Within two years, residents will start to feel the benefits,” he was quoted by the New Straits Times, on Sunday.

Key initiatives include upgrading road networks, building new schools and clinics, and promoting local industries such as agriculture and tourism to enhance economic growth.

Ruddy stressed that the development plan aims to improve the quality of life for Pitas residents and drive sustainable growth, positioning the constituency as a model of progress in Sabah.

The timing of Ruddy Awah’s unveiling of the 10-year development plan coincides with the Sabah state election year, raising questions about whether the initiative is strategically aimed at garnering voter support.

Pitas, known for its scenic coastal landscapes and traditional handicrafts, is one of Malaysia’s poorest areas due to its remote location, limited infrastructure, and lack of economic opportunities. – February 25, 2025
