PH leadership has yet to confirm Ewon appointment as Sabah PH chairman, despite election
Datuk Ewon Benedick’s appointment as Sabah PH chairman is still in limbo, awaiting central leadership’s green light.
Sabah PH State Leadership Council (MPN) submitted a report on the selection to the central council, says Datuk Mustapha Sakmud.
“The process was done according to procedure, but confirmation must come from the top,” Mustapha clarified.
He said the central leadership was briefed on the meeting’s proceedings in detail.
On a separate note, Mustapha said their recent meeting between Sabah PKR leaders and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to discuss on state matters, with no specific agenda.
“We were informed the Chief Minister will be performing umrah, and it was just a general chat,” Mustapha said.
The PH central council is expected to address Benedick’s appointment in its upcoming meeting.
Benedick won the Sabah PH chair post in an inter-party election on December 1. He won the election by three votes against Datuk Seri Christina Liew. – January 4, 2025
