Six people, including a baby and a child, died in a horrific three-vehicle crash on the Kalumpang-Semporna-Tawau road.

The crash, which happened at 5pm, involved an Isuzu D-Max, Toyota Innova, and a Proton Wira.

Fire and Rescue officials said the victims in the Proton Wira died at the scene.

“There were 15 people involved. Six victims from the Proton Wira were confirmed dead by medical officers, and one was injured,” said operation commander PBK II Badri Alkap.

The victims who died included three men, one woman, a baby boy, and a young girl.

The four passengers in the Isuzu D-Max and four others in the Toyota Innova were unharmed.

Rescue personnel from Semporna Fire and Rescue Department were dispatched, alongside five police officers and three medical responders.

All deceased victims were handed over to police for further action.

The operation was called off after ensuring the scene was safe. – January 12, 2025.
