PWD told to fix potholes, prevent road accidents

Hajiji does not want fatal Lido incident to recur

The Public Works Department (PWD) must be more proactive in addressing potholes and road damage to ensure public safety, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He stressed that the government does not want accidents caused by potholes, like the recent incident on Jalan Lintas, to happen again.

“This is a serious issue, and we will continue working to prevent such incidents. Officials responsible for road maintenance must act swiftly and resolve these problems,” he said.

“We have instructed our officers and relevant departments to take this matter seriously. Potholes must not be left unattended, as they can lead to accidents.”

Hajiji was speaking at Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah’s Chinese New Year celebration in Inanam on Sunday.

Also present were Gagasan Rakyat Inanam Division Chief Datuk Roland Chia and Youth Chief Datuk Fairuz Renddan. – February 10, 2025
